𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗠𝗔) 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. What makes us especially happy is seeing our students embrace the opportunities available to them - whether they choose to stay on campus, where life can be very busy, or go abroad and discover new academic and cultural experiences.

 

And we are equally privileged when we get to see our students 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 in ways that are uniquely their own.

 

𝗢𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀. Our 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (𝗕𝗔) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗠𝗔) programmes have friendly and long-standing academic connections with colleagues there. It is very nice to see these connections opening doors for our students and becoming part of their own journeys.

 

𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶’𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗻𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗼, 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 . After completing his first year in the Linguistics track, he is now beginning a new chapter at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, where he is exploring how different subjects can be taught in a bilingual classroom while bringing together his experience as an English tutor and his passion for art and sport.

 

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀:

I carry a profound sense of gratitude to the Faculty of Philology and the Programme of English Studies for opening the door to an experience that has led me all the way to the University of Oviedo.

 

After completing my first year in the English Studies (MA) Linguistics track, I am now beginning a new chapter in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Oviedo. The faculty has a special program for getting to learn how to teach various subjects such as Art, Physical Education, Science, or Mathematics in a bilingual classroom. This made me more excited to blend my humble experience as an English tutor and passionate person in art and sport. For me, the most challenging and creative course is Communicative Skills, where we are asked to read selected articles, summarise them, and orally present them before turning the article’s topic into teaching materials, but I really like this course because it primarily aims to sharpen our language fluency in oral and written forms.

 

Another amazing course is Physical Education where the classes take place on an actual sports field which saves me a gym membership .
