On June 2, 2025, students from Vilniaus Salininkų gimnazija took part in an event organized by Anglistikos akademija, where they attended a series of insightful sessions on language and linguistics.

Rūta Burbaitė led a session titled “Neologisms in Translation: From ‘Doomscrolling’ to ‘Devynaukščiausiai’,” exploring the creation and translation of new words. Davide Castiglione presented “Can Animals Talk? A Psycholinguistic Perspective,” inviting students to consider the ways animals communicate. Rita Juknevičienė’s talk, “Where Does the Language That Linguists Study Exist?”, encouraged participants to reflect on the nature and existence of language itself.

The event offered students a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of language, translation, and communication from multiple perspectives.
